Welcome to the South Atlantic Bight Land Use - Coastal Ecosystem Study  (LU-CES) Homepage

The Southeastern seaboard between Florida and North Carolina is one of the least developed coastal regions in the United States. In many regions, environmental management focuses on cleaning up contaminated systems and reclaiming altered habitats. But here in the Southeast there is still an opportunity for proactive environmental management.

LU-CES seeks to improve our understanding of the population and socioeconomic trends that characterize the Southeastern coast, and how these trends affect our coastal ecosystems.
